Domes & Infrared Optics
Surmet's domes and infrared (IR) optics are used in a wide range of high performance applications that require unwavering performance in some of the world's most extreme environments. Our ALON® and Spinel optical ceramics offer high transmission over the Visible-MWIR wavelength range, excellent refractive index homogeneity, and outstanding environmental durability. Surmet produces optical components with customized features such as embedded conductive grids, specialty coatings, sub-wavelength wavefront error, and tight dimensional tolerance. Surmet's optical components have been inserted in production military systems.
